According to an industry on the 13th, South Korea’s HiDeep’s Force Touch Chip (IC) was used for P9 Plus that was recently announced by Huawei. P9 Plus is Huawei’s flagship model with 5.5-inch Full HD Display and a dual-camera with 12 million pixels.
HiDeep once supplied its Force Touch Chip to Huawei for the first time in September of last year for its Mate S model. This is the second time Huawei is using HiDeep’s Force Touch Chip.
As cooperation between two companies expands, there will be positive effects for HiDeep due to having its Force Touch Chip used for Huawei’s major model.

Unlike Xiaomi and other Chinese Smartphone manufacturers, Huawei is increasing its influence even in premium Smartphone markets by putting out its patents and technical skills. P9 is a new-application product that represents Huawei’s strategy, and a South Korean company is responsible for one of P9’s major axis.
HiDeep was established in 2010. Although it is a venture company with only 6 years of experience, HiDeep and Apple are the only ones that commercialized Force Touch 404. Because Apple is using Force Touch technology only for its products, HiDeep is viewed as an alternative for Android phones that are competing against iPhones. HiDeep also agreed to supply Force Touch Chip to China’s Gionee.
